Hair Dressing And Beauty Therapy

It’s a course dealing with cosmetology and salon. The trainees get pure cosmetology and hairdressing life time skills such as Weaving, Chemical Relaxing, Hair Coloring, Professional Image, Shampooing, Hair Cut/Barbering, Thermal Irons, Blow-Drying, Permanent Waving, Braiding, Setting, Bridal Setting Pedicure, Manicure, Waxing, Eye Brow Shaping, Body Massage, Facial, Henna Printing and Hair Removal (Tweezing and Threading). With good, talented instructress, the students ends up acquire these skills appropriately. Also the students do Entrepreneurship, Computer Applications, and Customer care and Salon Management. Also the students are given two months for attachment before they do their final exam.

1. HAIR DRESSING AND BEAUTY THERAPY - ARTISAN LEVEL

This course is tested and examined by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC). A trainee who undergoes this course and attain its certificate can further his/her skills to higher level. The course takes two years and the trainees are also trained lifeskills, ICT and  Entrepreneurship which are referred as support subjects.

2. HAIR DRESSING AND BEAUTY THERAPY III

These are two courses done concurrent and they take one year. At the end of the year; a trainee is able to do Weaving, Chemical Relaxing, Hair Coloring, Professional Image, Shampooing, Hair Cut/Barbering, Thermal Irons, Blow-Drying, Permanent Waving, Braiding, Setting, Bridal Setting, Pedicure, Manicure, Waxing, Eye Brow Shaping, Body Massage, Facial, Henna Printing and Hair Removal (Tweezing And Threading). This course is examined by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) and the exam it’s done at the end of the year i.e. November /December series. For anyone who has KCSE, KCPE and school dropouts who are able to read and write can do this course.

3. HAIR DRESSING AND BEAUTY THERAPY II AND I

Anyone who possesses a Grade III certificate with a pass can join Grade II and those who passed Grade II can join Grade I. These courses are meant to improve the skills of those who did grade III. Both of these courses i.e Grade II and I are done in six months and they can be trained in both Full time and Part time basis. The part time classes are held from 2:00PM -5:00PM. Both are examined by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). And these course are done on July /August Exam series.
