Motor Vehicle Mechanics

It’s among the Best and most populated course in the institution. The students are taught and get knowledge on Motor Vehicle Mechanic and Engineering. At the end of the course students are able to Trouble shoot an Engine and any other component on a vehicle. With very professional mechanical Trainers, the trainees become very competent in the motor vehicle industry. It has the following levels:-

1. CRAFT CERTIFICATE IN AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING

The course is intended to provide students with technical skills required by industry. A graduate at craft certificate level will be expected to develop skills in Automobiles Mechanics, computerized Vehicle design and determine the behavior and vehicle efficiency. This qualification provides the graduates with an avenue for progression into Diploma and more other higher levels in Automotive Engineering. They also have an advantage of learning support subjects suitable for Automotive skills stability e.g Technical Drawing, Business plan, Mathematics and Workshop Organization Management .

QUALIFICATIONS

For someone to pursue this course must have attained a mean grade of D (PLAIN) and above in high school level or a Pass on Artisan in Motor Vehicle Mechanics .

2. MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS ARTISAN

It’s a two years course which is tested by the Kenya National Examination council (KNEC). A trainee who achieves this Artisan certificate is able to further his/her mechanical career up to craft level , then Diploma and Ends up to pursue Degree in future. The trainees are also trained Business Skills, Technical Drawing, Science, Mathematics and Entrepreneurship which is referred as support subject.

QUALIFICATION

Anyone who is in possession of a Kenya Certificate of Primary Education [KCPE] or Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education [KCSE] can join this certificate course.

3. MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS AND MOTOR VEHICLE ELECTRICIAN GRADE III (MVM/MVE)

It’s a one year course and at the end of the year, trainees are able to repair and trouble shoots any problem in and on a Motor Vehicle e.g. fixing break system, engine problems .

QUALIFICATIONS

It’s a course for those who unable to further their studies i.e. School Dropouts and those who wish to have a career as Motor Vehicles Mechanics. Anyone who holds a KCSE certificate, KCPE certificate, or those who are able to read and write can join. It’s tested by the National Industrial Training Authority [NITA] Examination Body.

3. MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS AND MOTOR VEHICLE ELECTRICIAN GRADE II (MVM/MVE)

This is a course meant to further the studies for those who are holding a Grade III certificate. It’s a six months course and it’s done both in fulltime or part time basis. For those with a pass in Grade III course are qualified to do this course. It’s also examined by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) 0n July / August – exam series.

4. MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS AND MOTOR VEHICLE ELECTRICIAN GRADE I (MVM/MVE)

It’s a course meant for those who still need to gain more knowledge and want to master the MVM/MVE skills and increase more job employment opportunities. It is a six months course and can be done in full time or part time basis . For those who are holding a Grade II certificate in MVM/MVE qualify to do this course. It’s also examined by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) on July/ August exam series.
